Echo is a project that explores the intersection of design and technology through creative coding. The goal was to design a book showcasing the alphabet, with each letter transformed into a dynamic and visually captivating dimensional form using coding techniques. The project required learning a coding program called "Processing" from scratch to bring the typographic designs to life in a unique way.
In order to create the dimensional type, I had to first research a typeface and then develop my own unique sequence of code that involved plugging in and refining various aspects to get the desired result. The output of colors were random with every run of the code allowing each letter and accompanying design to be different.
The learning process involved hands-on practice to master the necessary coding techniques, experimentation, and many hours of troubleshooting. This project allowed me to experience a different perspective of type outside of the industry standard programs while also strengthening my layout and mockup skills. Overall, Echo served as a testament to the value of perseverance and continual learning in creative endeavors.
